Supporting Those Who Support Others

Caring for someone living with mental health or behavioral health challenges can be deeply meaningful — and incredibly demanding. Over time, the emotional, relational, and practical weight of caregiving can lead to burnout, anxiety, or a loss of self.

Caretaker Therapy at Help in the Home Clinical Services is designed specifically for you — the parent, partner, friend, or support who gives so much of yourself to help others heal.

We provide a dedicated space for you to restore balance, strengthen boundaries, and learn new ways to care without losing yourself in the process.

Why Caretaker Therapy Matters

When someone you love is struggling, it’s easy to focus entirely on their needs. But sustainable care depends on your own well-being. Caretaker Therapy helps you:

  • Process emotions like grief, guilt, frustration, or fear
  • Build and maintain healthy boundaries
  • Communicate more effectively with your loved one and their care team
  • Learn how to support without enabling
  • Reconnect with your own identity and sense of purpose
  • Develop skills for resilience, self-compassion, and recovery
  • This is not about “doing more.” It’s about healing, learning, and finding steadiness within your role as a caregiver.

This is not about “doing more.” It’s about healing, learning, and finding steadiness within your role as a caregiver.
